COLUMBUS, OH - CAPA has received a $500,000 grant from Bank of America in support of its Music Hall project at the former Central Presbyterian Church building at Third and Chapel streets in Downtown Columbus.

The award is significant as it supports CAPA's capital campaign to create a new arts space in Columbus, transforming a historic and long-vacant building into a flexible performance and event venue. It also comes at a crucial time, as CAPA is in the final stages of fundraising in support of the Music Hall project.

'This generous investment from Bank of America is a powerful catalyst in bringing this historic space back to life,' said Chad Whittington, President and CEO of CAPA. 'As we work to create a welcoming, flexible venue for artists and audiences alike, this support helps CAPA bring a new energy to Downtown.'

This grant represents the largest strategic philanthropic investment Bank of America has made in the Central Ohio region, underscoring the project's significance and the growing demand for accessible, community-centered arts spaces, as well as the bank's longstanding commitment to the region.

'Bank of America is honored to stand alongside CAPA in reimagining this historic space for future generations,' said Andy Noll, president, Bank of America Columbus. 'This investment builds on our broader long-term commitment to Columbus, including expanding our financial centers and creating jobs, and reflects our focus on strengthening cultural vitality, economic growth, and community connection.'

Located at 132 South Third Street, the landmark building-constructed in 1859 and one of the oldest in downtown Columbus-will be reimagined as a vibrant, state-of-the-art community arts space designed to meet the region's growing demand for mid-sized performance venues.

The project is scheduled to commence in May 2026, with an anticipated opening in the fall of 2027.
