CHICAGO (AP) _ Old Republic International Corp. (ORI) on Thursday reported earnings of $627 million in its fourth quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Chicago-based company said it had net income of $2.06. Earnings, adjusted for investment gains, were 88 cents per share.

The insurance underwriter posted revenue of $2.72 billion in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $2.27 billion.

For the year, the company reported profit of $1.53 billion, or $5.05 per share. Revenue was reported as $8.58 billion.
