Lockheed Martin announces that its Long Range Discrimination Radar (LRDR) has successfully detected, tracked, and identified a ballistic missile threat in real-world conditions during the FTX-26a flight test. This test was conducted jointly with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).The test took place over the North Pacific in a complex environment incorporating a representative target accompanied by countermeasures. The LRDR system provided critical data to the Command and Control Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) system, which then enabled a simulated ground engagement.According to Rick Cordaro, vice president of radar and sensor systems at Lockheed Martin, "deterrence begins with detection," emphasizing that this advancement strengthens the homeland defense posture. Thanks to its open architecture, the LRDR allows for the integration of new technologies, providing armed forces with real-time actionable information to accelerate decision-making.Copyright (c) 2025 CercleFinance.com.
