IN BRIEF: Autodesk completes purchase of PIX media production software
Autodesk Inc - San Francisco, California-based software architecture, engineering, construction, manufacturing, media, education, and entertainment via its Design & Make Platform - Completes its acquisition of the PIX business from X2X LLC. PIX provides a production management solution for the media and entertainment industry. Autodesk had first announced the purchase back in February without providing financial details. It says the addition of PIX will "support Autodesk's vision to fully realize the potential of connecting pre- and post-production data for our customers through Flow, the media and entertainment industry cloud on Autodesk's Design & Make platform".
It explains: "Efficiency has long been a major problem in the media and entertainment industry. Assets often need to be recreated, data is saved in incompatible formats, and important information can be easily lost in webs of files and folders. These issues cause a lot of rework for our customers, costing them time and money."
