United Rentals: Q4 Earnings Snapshot

STAMFORD, Conn. (AP) _ United Rentals Inc. (URI) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter earnings of $481 million.

On a per-share basis, the Stamford, Connecticut-based company said it had net income of $6.61. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to $7.39 per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $6.91 per share.

The equipment rental company posted revenue of $2.78 billion in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $2.76 billion.

United Rentals expects full-year revenue in the range of $10.65 billion to $11.05 billion.
