On a per-share basis, the Bowie, Maryland-based company said it had a loss of 73 cents. Losses, adjusted for asset impairment costs and amortization costs, came to 15 cents per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 18 cents per share.
The company posted revenue of $30.2 million in the period, which fell short of Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $32.4 million.
In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, the company's shares hit 90 cents. A year ago, they were trading at $3.31.
