New York Times : Brian Weigler Rejoins The Times Company as S.V.P. and Head of Enterprise Infrastructure and Operations

NYT

Nearly two years ago, we transformed the way we work. Practically overnight, we became a mostly remote workforce. Along with fundamental changes to our routines and how we collaborate, we also changed much of the way we use technology to do our work. Now, as many of us prepare to return to our offices, we know that our workplace will look very different than it did in the past.

To effectively take advantage of the opportunities that hybrid work offers- including the creative and collaborative benefits of coming together, balanced with the flexibility and time for focus that remote work provides- our company needs a targeted technology strategy, a first-class set of collaboration tools and a resilient global infrastructure.

That's why we're delighted to welcome Brian Weigler as our new S.V.P. and head of Enterprise Infrastructure and Operations. In his role, Brian will drive the technology strategy and lead the tech operations needed to support our hybrid workforce. He will lead our global Enterprise Productivity, Networking, Core Infrastructure, End User Services and Telephony teams.

For anyone who recognizes Brian's name, that's likely because he worked at The Times from 2010 to 2015, as head of End User Services. Many of you will remember him as the leader who successfully brought Gmail, Google Meet, and Bytes into our workplace. He developed a track record of bringing new ideas, working collaboratively and delivering. In 2015 he left us for an opportunity at Sculptor Capital Management, where he ultimately became CTO.

We're looking forward to Brian joining Enterprise Technology, and seeing him bring his experience, skills and enthusiasm back to The Times in a role that's vital to our company's technology operations and to the experience of all of our employees.
