A MESSAGE FROM OUR CHAIRMAN, CEO AND PRESIDENT
Quest colleagues bring dedication to their work and show compassion and
care, knowing behind every specimen is a patient relying on us.
Every day, individuals visit their healthcare provider or our Patient Service Centers to begin their quest for answers-identifying health risks, confirming lifestyle changes are making an impact, or finding the right treatment and monitoring its efficacy. In many cases, care starts with Quest Diagnostics. The insights we provide inspire actions that improve health outcomes and help transform lives.
In 2024, we worked diligently to deliver on our Purpose, working together to create a healthier world, one life at a time. We continued to make our services more accessible through consumer-initiated testing and self-collection options. In addition, our eight acquisitions in 2024 are extending our reach and capabilities. Notably, our acquisition
of LifeLabs®, a leading provider of diagnostic services in Canada, broadens our footprint in North America.
We also furthered our use of artificial intelligence (AI) to help improve medical quality, drive innovation, and progress operational efficiency across our entire value chain. We believe the potential
of AI for healthcare is significant, and will continue to deploy these advancements responsibly and with care.
Expanding our broad test menu remained a strategic priority in 2024. With support from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, we developed the first commercially available H5 avian influenza "bird flu" test. We also launched new tests to more accurately measure kidney function and effectiveness of type 1 diabetes medication.
Collaborating with healthcare stakeholders to evolve industry offerings and advance population health was also a key focus for us. We are proud to have joined the Global CEO Initiative on Alzheimer's Disease, a coalition of private sector leaders working together in the fight against the disease. We engaged approximately 75 academic, health system, and community oncology centers in our Haystack MRD™ (minimal-residual disease) Early Experience Program, which provided oncologists with advance access to Haystack MRD™, a blood test
for detecting residual disease, assessing treatment response, and monitoring for recurrence in solid tumor cancers. Quest and the Quest Diagnostics Foundation also continued to expand screening in communities through 39 active programs, including new initiatives in Chicago IL and Paterson NJ.
Our ability to provide quality diagnostics and innovative solutions is due to the commitment and dedication of our approximately 56,000 global employees who lead with care each and every day. In 2024, we continued to invest in our workforce through new well-being programs, development trainings such as our frontline
INSPIRE program, and skill-building opportunities. We also launched our first Culture Insights Survey to better assess and enhance the holistic employee experience.
2024 was a year of positive impact, and we look forward to building on this momentum through 2025 and beyond.
