India’s ReNew to build 6.5-GW solar manufacturing plant in Andhra Pradesh

ReNew Energy Global is to establish a 6.5-GW solar ingot-wafer manufacturing facility in Anakapalli district, near Visakhapatnam in India’s Andhra Pradesh state, according to POWERLINE.

The project involves an investment of INR42bn ($445mn) and is expected to be commissioned within 24 months.

It forms part of a wider commitment by the company of around INR820bn in Andhra Pradesh, agreed through memoranda of understanding aimed at supporting the state’s clean energy and manufacturing ecosystem.
