Delta will contribute $100,000 to the American Red Cross to aid in the relief efforts in Puerto Rico and other areas coping with the destruction caused by Hurricane Fiona. The airline will also provide cargo and transportation support in partnership with the state of New York to assist those impacted by the storm in Puerto Rico.

Hurricane Fiona caused widespread damage and left behind severe flooding in those areas. Hurricane Fiona struck Puerto Rico five years to the date after Hurricane Maria caused widespread devastation there.

"Delta stands in support of the people affected by Hurricane Fiona," said Tad Hutcheson, Managing Director-Community Engagement. "We are thankful to have partners like the Red Cross that specialize in disaster response year-round and can help provide immediate assistance to those in need." This contribution is in addition to Delta's $1 million grant to the American Red Cross as an Annual Disaster Giving Program partner.

In addition, Delta pledged to provide cargo and travel support in conjunction with New York State, following Governor Kathy Hochul's announcement of an immediate response plan to assist the people of Puerto Rico in wake of the devastation caused by Hurricane Fiona.

"New York knows full well the devastating impact that Mother Nature can bring, and that is why we stand ready to help the people of Puerto Rico recover and rebuild from this terrible storm," Governor Kathy Hochul said. "Our brothers and sisters in Puerto Rico are incredibly resilient but, in times like this, New York will be there to help in any way we can, including sending personnel and resources to help the island and its residents recover. I thank Delta Air Lines for pledging to join our state's efforts and stepping up in this time of need."

Delta customers can support relief efforts for hurricane victims by donating through Delta's Customer Microsite, in partnership with the Red Cross. Donations will go toward immediate Hurricane Fiona relief needs.

The American Red Cross is Delta's longest-standing non-profit partner, and the partnership has allowed the airline, its customers, and employees to help people in need since 1941. Delta has been the largest corporate blood drive sponsor with the American Red Cross for the past five years.
