Dutch payments provider Adyen is to buy brand rewards-and-incentives platform Talon. One for a total 750 million euros ($877.8 million).

The acquisition, to be funded from existing cash, will allow Adyen's existing services to be applied to customers on Talon. One's platform, Adyen said in a release Thursday.

Combining Adyen's payments infrastructure with Talon. One's real-time decision-making capabilities will allow merchants to target customers more directly, the company said.

"With Talon. One, a merchant can recognize a shopper and apply a relevant offer instantly, before the payment is completed, ultimately driving higher revenue," said Ingo Uytdehaage, Adyen's co-chief executive.

Berlin-based Talon. One, which offers loyalty services for global brands like sportswear group Adidas, cosmetics giant Sephora and Panera Bread, is set to book around 60 million euros in annual recurring revenue as of the end of this year, Adyen said. The transaction should close in the second half, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary conditions, it said.
