On the heels of a disappointing first-quarter performance, Target has formed a multi-year "Enterprise Acceleration Office" aimed at increasing the retailer's speed and agility in support of its efforts to return to growth.
Target on Wednesday said its chief operating officer, Michael Fiddelke, will oversee the effort, while Christina Hennington, its chief strategy and growth officer, will leave the Minneapolis company as part of an executive realignment aimed at supporting more speed and connection across the organization.
Target said Prat Vemana, its chief information and product officer, will take on leadership of the Target in India global capability center, while Jim Lee, its chief financial officer, will take on leadership of enterprise strategy and partnerships and Rick Gomez, its chief commercial officer, will oversee its enterprise insights team.
Target said Hennington, who has been with the company since 2003, will serve as a strategic adviser through Sept. 7.
Target also said Amy Tu, who joined last August as chief legal and compliance officer, has left the company, and that Melissa Kremer, its chief human resources officer, will oversee the function while the retailer conducts an external search for a successor.
