Bullish Medical Developments International Limited (ASX:MVP) insiders filled their treasuries with AU$2.8m worth of stock over last year

Over the last year, a good number of insiders have significantly increased their holdings in Medical Developments International Limited (ASX:MVP). This is encouraging because it indicates that insiders are more optimistic about the company's prospects.

Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.

Medical Developments International Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider purchase was by Non-Executive Chairman Gordon Naylor for AU$1.0m worth of shares, at about AU$3.89 per share. That implies that an insider found the current price of AU$4.21 per share to be enticing. While their view may have changed since the purchase was made, this does at least suggest they have had confidence in the company's future. If someone buys shares at well below current prices, it's a good sign on balance, but keep in mind they may no longer see value. In this case we're pleased to report that the insider purchases were made at close to current prices.

Over the last year, we can see that insiders have bought 564.34k shares worth AU$2.8m. But insiders sold 154.00k shares worth AU$1.0m. In the last twelve months there was more buying than selling by Medical Developments International insiders. They paid about AU$4.94 on average. I'd consider this a positive as it suggests insiders see value at around the current price.
