Medtronic: plan to spin off diabetes business

Alongside the publication of its annual results, Medtronic has announced its intention to spin off its diabetes business into a new independent company, a transaction it hopes to complete within 18 months.The medical equipment supplier explains that it will "create a more focused Medtronic with a more simplified portfolio in high-margin growth markets" and "an independent, large-scale leader in diabetes."The spin-off is expected to generate value by creating "a shareholder base for the new diabetes business that is more aligned with its financial profile" and should be accretive to Medtronic's gross margin, operating margin, and EPS.Copyright (c) 2025 CercleFinance.com.
