On Earth Day 2026, The World Around announced the global open call for Young Climate Prize Cycle 03, an accelerator program supporting changemakers under 25 who are working on the front lines of the climate crisis.
MillerKnoll and MillerKnoll Foundation are proud to continue its role as Design Partner, helping support a program that centers lived experience, community knowledge, and design thinking as tools for real-world climate action.
The Young Climate Prize was created to recognize and nurture ideas that don't always make it into traditional decision-making spaces. The program brings together young innovators from around the world whose self-initiated projects are already established in their communities, tested through lived reality, and designed to scale across regions.
Since launching in 2022, the Young Climate Prize has supported 50 young people from 35 countries working across a wide range of climate challenges, from waste management and alternative fuel sources to material innovation and land stewardship. Participants are selected through a global open call and paired with mentors whose experience and networks help advance their work through one-on-one guidance and collective learning.
Cycle 03 builds on that momentum through the Young Climate Prize Design Academy, connecting the cohort with an international group of architects, designers, curators, and thinkers leading at the intersection of design, culture, and climate. Through masterclasses and mentorship, participants deepen both the impact of their projects and their own leadership capacity.
"At MillerKnoll Foundation, we believe lasting change starts locally and with people who are closest to the challenges they're working to solve," shared Linda Brand, President of MillerKnoll Foundation, "These are leaders who are already doing the climate work, and this program helps give them support and guidance to take it even further."
Applications for Young Climate Prize Cycle 03 are open to individuals ages 13-25 around the world who are leading a self-initiated climate action project with demonstrable impact. The program is free to apply to and participate in, with applications closing June 30, 2026. For additional information on Young Climate Prize, visit The World Around's website.
