Speedway Motorsports was named by the Sports Business Journal as one of its Best Places to Work in Sports for 2024, the weekly sports business magazine announced Monday.

The Best Places to Work in Sports is an editorial initiative developed by SBJ, the industry-leading news source on the business of sports. More than 200 companies were nominated as part of this year's Best Places to Work in Sports initiative. Employees at each organization completed surveys, managed by Quantum Workplace, the trusted human resources technology provider. Results of those surveys were compiled and analyzed to determine which organizations would be honored with this prestigious award.

"Speedway Motorsports prides itself on creating remarkable events for fans, giving back to the communities where we operate, continuously improving and taking care of our teammates," said Marcus Smith, President and CEO of Speedway Motorsports. "As a leader in the entertainment space, this recognition is a testament to the culture that can be created when organizations put people first. We strive to be a place where our guests want to visit and make lifelong memories, and where our teammates thrive as well. We are honored to be selected among the Best Places to Work in Sports."

Based in Charlotte, N.C., Speedway Motorsports was one of 56 finalists recognized in the SBJ's 2024 Best Places to Work in Sports, earning a silver medal in the Professional Services category for organizations with 50 or more employees.

Speedway Motorsports has over 700 employees across its 11 premier motorsports facilities as well as its souvenir merchandising subsidiary, SMI Properties; its racecar manufacturing business, U.S. Legend Cars International; its radio broadcast arm, the Performance Racing Network and zMAX Micro-lubricants, an engine additive company.
