Apple Names John Ternus as CEO, Tim Cook to Become Executive Chairman

Apple named John Ternus as chief executive, succeeding Tim Cook.

Ternus is currently Apple's senior vice president of hardware engineering. His appointment will take effect Sept. 1, the tech giant said Monday.
