Industrials Up on Earnings Optimism -- Industrials Roundup

Shares of industrial and transportation companies rose amid earnings optimism.

Shares of factory operators such as Illinois Tool Works, Carrier Global and Hubbell were all stronger ahead of their earnings reports.

General Motors was more or less flat ahead of its quarterly update.

Japanese auto maker Nissan forecast a narrower annual net loss, even as sales were set to contract, citing one-off gains on revised U.S. emissions rules and cost cuts.
