Qualcomm's Alphawave Takeover Deadline Gets Extended

Alphawave IP Group said the deadline for Qualcomm to either announce a firm intention to make a takeover offer or walk away has been extended.

The U.K. semiconductor company on Monday said the deadline is now set to May 27, and that both parties are engaged in the negotiations in respect of a possible offer.

A prior deadline had been extended to May 12 from April 29.

Qualcomm said in early April that it was considering making an offer to acquire Alphawave, without disclosing financial details.

The company said there couldn't be any certainty that a firm offer would be made or what its terms would be.
