The U.K.'s antitrust authority said it is seeking comments on Boeing's proposed acquisition of fuselage maker Spirit AeroSystems as the regulator considers whether the deal might hurt competition.

Boeing in July last year reached a deal to buy Spirit AeroSystems for about $4.7 billion, in a bid to improve the safety and quality of its manufacturing.

The U.K.'s Competition and Markets Authority said Thursday that it invites comments on the transaction from any interested party until July 15.
