Uber Eats' meal delivery service brought $18.7 billion worth of food and groceries to its customers (16%), generating $3.5 billion in revenue.

Uber Technologies, the parent holding company, further saw a 26 percent increase in revenue at its cab division. There, revenue reached $6.5 billion. That's money coming from brokerage and an as yet unnamed little bit from advertising revenue.

Profit (ebitda) at Just Eat Takeaway's competitor rose 52 percent to $628 million.

This is reflected in the quarterly figures the Americans just published.

Net under the line remained $2.6 billion, part of which is being used to buy back its own shares.

On a monthly basis, 161 customers use Uber's platforms. That's thirteen percent more than a year ago. Part of them, 25 million customers, have an Uber One subscription. For seventy euros a year, they get discounts on cab rides and meal deliveries.
