Nestle said it would eliminate up to 301 positions in Spain as the company seeks to recalibrate its business amid rising costs and changing consumer habits.
The maker of Nescafe coffee and Purina pet food said the decision would affect jobs across offices, sales teams, distribution centers and six production sites in the country. The group currently employs 4,158 people in Spain.
Nestle said the cuts would be implemented through a collective redundancy procedure that involves dialogue with workers' representatives. The announcement comes months after Nestle said it would cut 16,000 jobs, part of an overhaul under new Chief Executive Philipp Navratil aimed at reviving the company's fortunes.
