SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Nektar Therapeutics (NKTR) on Thursday reported a loss of $44.9 million in its first quarter.

The San Francisco-based company said it had a loss of $1.82 per share.

The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of $1.74 per share.

The biopharmaceutical company posted revenue of $10.9 million in the period, also missing Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $11.4 million.
