'The anticipated debut of these City Express by Marriott properties in the coming years not only reaffirms Polaris' commitment to excellence and regional growth but also helps meet the growing demand for hotel accommodations in El Salvador,' said Alberto Guerrero, President of Corporacion Polaris.

El Salvador's tourism and business sectors have experienced significant growth in recent years, driving a surge in demand for additional hotel accommodations. The country has seen a remarkable increase in hotel room capacity, with offerings more than doubling through new partnerships, including the forthcoming JW Marriott Hotel San Salvador. This expansion allows Marriott to strengthen its presence in the region, positioning the company to effectively cater to both business and leisure travelers in El Salvador.

The newly signed City Express by Marriott properties are strategically located in key areas across the country to cater to a wide range of guests. These hotels will offer easy access to both tourist attractions and major business hubs, ensuring that travelers have a seamless experience. The four properties are expected to open between late 2023 and 2027, with each location thoughtfully chosen to provide convenient access to important destinations.

One of the initial properties to open will be City Centro by Marriott San Salvador, centrally located in the city's historic district. Tailored for travelers eager to immerse themselves in the city's vibrant history and culture, this hotel will feature 31 rooms. Just 30 minutes from Ilopango International Airport, it offers easy access to major landmarks such as the National Library (BINAES), the Metropolitan Cathedral, and the iconic Plaza Civica and Liberty Plaza. With its prime location, guests will have the perfect blend of San Salvador's historical charm and modern comfort. Set to convert by the end of this year, the hotel will offer an exceptional mix of contemporary amenities while celebrating the city's rich heritage.

Looking further into the future, City Express by Marriott Aeropuerto is expected to open in late 2026. This hotel will provide a key link between San Salvador's metro area and the International Airport, making it an ideal choice for travelers seeking quick and convenient access to air travel. In the same year, another property, City Express by Marriott Santa Elena, will open along the Pan-American Highway in a bustling residential and commercial district. This location will be close to major destinations such as the WTC, La Gran Via mall, hospitals, and schools, making it an excellent choice for both business and family travelers.

By late 2027, Marriott will introduce City Express Plus by Marriott San Benito in the vibrant San Benito district. Known for its lively business scene, dining options, nightlife, and cultural attractions like the Museum of Art of El Salvador (MARTE), this location will offer an ideal base for travelers exploring the city's diverse offerings. With its central location, the San Benito property will serve as an excellent hub for those wanting to experience the best of the city while staying in a modern, affordable hotel.

City Express by Marriott, a key member of Marriott Bonvoy's global portfolio, is further expanding its international footprint. This latest announcement aligns with Marriott's ongoing growth strategy for the brand, which includes upcoming openings in Argentina, Bolivia, Nicaragua, Peru, the United States, and Canada. The brand's consistent expansion into new markets highlights Marriott's ability to serve a diverse array of travelers, offering everything from affordable accommodations to high-end options. With 153 hotels and more than 17,700 rooms currently in operation, along with 62 projects in development, City Express by Marriott continues to build a strong presence across the globe.

This expansion highlights Marriott's expertise in scaling brands that resonate with regional demands. The City Express by Marriott brand consistently demonstrates its capacity to cater to a broad spectrum of travelers, offering top-notch, budget-friendly accommodations in prime locations worldwide. With an expanding portfolio and a strong foothold in the CALA region, Marriott is poised to reinforce its leadership in the affordable midscale hotel sector.
