PNC Financial Services has followed through on a plan to raise its dividend by 6% to $1.70 a share.
The bank holding company said Thursday that the 10-cent raise will go into effect for dividends payable on Aug. 5 to shareholders of record as of July 15.
Like many other big U.S. banks, PNC said Tuesday that it would recommend a dividend increase after completing the Federal Reserve's stress test of their resilience against a downturn.
PNC's new payout on an annualized basis is equal to $6.80 a share and represents a yield of 3.5% based on Wednesday's closing price of $195.71.
