(Alliance News) - Vodafone Group PLC on Tuesday said Marika Auramo has been appointed as chief executive of Vodafone Business.
The Berkshire, England-based telecommunications provider said Auramo will pick up the role on July 1.
Auramo joins from SAP SE, where she was chief business officer for the Europe, the Middle East & Africa region. "In this role, Marika was responsible for driving the go-to-market strategy for SAP's product portfolio across 89 countries and for managing 14,000 employees," Vodafone said.
It noted that Auramo has been with SAP since 1999.
She will take over from Giorgio Migliarina, who has led Vodafone Business as interim CEO.
Chief Executive Margherita Della Valle said: "I am delighted that Marika will be joining Vodafone to lead our Business division, a key growth driver. She brings extensive B2B experience from the IT industry, and I look forward to welcoming her as a member of our executive committee."
Vodafone shares fell 1.0% to 66.50 pence each on Tuesday morning in London.
