Walmart opened a 300,000-square-foot milk processing facility in Texas, the result of more than $350 million in investment.
The retailer said Wednesday that the new facility in Robinson, Texas, is its third owned and operated milk processing facility and will create more than 400 jobs. The new plant will source milk from local dairy farmers and will process and bottle a variety of milk options, from whole to 1% chocolate milk, the company said.
The operation will supply more than 650 Walmart stores and Sam's Clubs in the U.S.
The company also has a milk processing facility in Fort Wayne, Ind., and another in Valdosta, Ga. The company has pledged to invest $350 billion in products made, grown, or assembled in the U.S. by 2031.
