The U.S. Space Force has awarded Lockheed Martin a contract worth up to $105 million to modernize its GPS ground control network.
Under the contract, the company will support launch, early orbit and disposal operations for its GPS IIIF satellites, which transmit an anti-jam signal 63 times more powerful than earlier models.
The upgrades will improve the GPS network, ensuring continuous service for national defense and commercial users, who rely on the satellites for transportation, banking and utilities.
