Panamanian airline Copa Airlines has ordered 40 737 Max jets from Boeing.
The two companies said that Copa Airlines also has an option to acquire up to 20 additional airplanes in the single-aisle family.
The order is part of Copa Airlines' plan to expand its fleet by more than 100 737 Max airplanes, the companies said, allowing the airline to expand its network in the Americas and the Caribbean.
"The additional 737 MAX aircraft will help Copa maintain one of the world's youngest and most capable fleets, while further supporting Panama as a key destination for business and tourism," Boeing Commercial Airplanes Chief Executive Stephanie Pope said.
