NiSource Signs Data Center Deals With Alphabet, Amazon

NiSource announced two data center development projects with Alphabet and Amazon Data Services.

The utilities company said Thursday it agreed with a subsidiary of Alphabet to support the development and operation of a data center in northern Indiana.

Under that contract, service for Alphabet is expected to start this summer, the utility company said Thursday.

Capacity and energy will be supplied using a pooled portfolio of electric generation assets for large-load customers and securing market capacity purchases.

NiSource also said it expanded its agreement with Amazon Data Services, under which it will energize Amazon sites and associated credits for residential customers.
