Stericycle : Observing Hispanic Heritage Month | Stericycle

SRCL

At Stericycle, observing Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15-October 15) is an essential part of honoring the culture and achievements of our many Hispanic team members. Celebrating the month also reinforces our commitment to fostering a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace for our valued team members. Diversity is a key ingredient for our success, and we are grateful for the ongoing vital contributions of Hispanic Americans to Stericycle.

Hispanic Heritage Month honors the achievement of Hispanics in the United States. Established in 1968 as Hispanic Heritage Week, the observance was expanded to a month by the U.S. Congress by resolution in 1988. The resolution called 'on the people of the United States, especially the educational community, to observe National Hispanic Heritage Month with appropriate ceremonies and activities.'

Our employee resource group Latinx Empowerment with Allied Leadership (LEAL) aims to provide resources for professional development and promote inclusive and equitable workplaces aligned to our values and goals. This year's celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month kicks off with a series of communications on the theme of familia (family). Family foods, traditions, history, and holidays will all be topics in these communications. LEAL is also hosting a leadership webinar featuring author and executive coach, Marlene Gonzalez, during this time.
