This is a digital platform in which data from different manufacturers are merged. After all, on a contemporary dairy farm, many machines and techniques have their own software system in which you get insight into the performance of the machines and the herd. These systems often cannot be linked together. As a result, you sometimes can't see the wood for the trees. John Deere and DeLaval are therefore combining the data of different manufacturers in the Milk Sustainability Center to still gain insight into crop and animal performance.

Although the initiative comes from two major manufacturers, the Milk Sustainability Center is brand-independent. What exactly is that about?

John Deere and DeLaval are calling on other manufacturers to join as partners. Dinamica Generale was the first to come forward. Among other things, this Italian manufacturer develops weighing and NIR sensors that you can build on feed mixers.

Is the system already available?

Yes, an initial, free version is available to a select number of dairy farmers in the United States, the Netherlands and Germany. Soon the platform will be available for more countries. You can sign up through the Milk Sustainability Center website.
